Fire Safe Community Project- contact Mike Woskow (707) 367-2568 burndog25@hotmail.com Forest Reciprocity link to go up on website. Fire Resiliency and Fuel Removal. State Wildlife Urban Interface Zone.
- Report from County Staff. Nash Gonzalez. The County has finaled 58 permits. Expedited permits for burn zone victims- given priority. Who can declare an emergency? 1) BOS 2) Director of Emergency Services (CEO) 3) Asst Director of Emergency Services (the Sheriff). The BOS would need to approve the emergency within 7 days. Who has access to Emergency Broadcast System? Was created by the Executive branch of the US govt. Regulated by the FCC. Would start at the local level and move it's way up. Sheriff would push an alert- emergency alert system. IPAWS- Sheriff has authority to activate IPAWS- EAS (Emergency Alert System). They also control the Nexel Alert System where people need to be signed up. Rick Ellert unlocks the EOC. We don't want to create panic. Looking at the lessons learned. Looking at evacuation plans. County is pursuing grant funding for: Hazard Mitigation Plan. Ignition Resistant Construction. County Early Warning Sirens. Hazardous Fuel Reduction. Defensible space assistance. Cameras. Lots will be submitted by April 18th. Feasibility studies need to be performed based on the utilities. Will often fall back on the Fire Chiefs. Letters of commitment. Fuel Reduction- chipper programs. RCD has acquired a grant via the county and will be removing dead trees. Can work with private property owners. Requires a CEQA review. These are federal and state grants. Takes time. Funding through FEMA. Amateur radio program sponsored by the County. People who are staying down at Lake Mendocino have been served with 30 day notice. Request for extensions have been written by the County and legislators. Redwood Valley Water Project. Won't have anything ready til mid-summer. Then will have a bid out for completing the work. When will the County get a bill from the Army Corp for the clean-up work. Insurance Debris Clean-up money should be given to the County. Contact Heather Carrell. Insurance companies need a bill for the debris removal.
- Upcoming Community Special Meeting: Review and Comment on Draft Community Plan, Design Guidelines. Cliff Paulin, Plan facilitator. Subcommittee of the RVMAC has been working with Cliff on the design guidelines. Looking at other counties design guidelines. They will meet with Brent Schultz- new head of Planning and Building to look at the guidelines on Monday to get feedback and how to implement. Looking at commercial and industrial zoning. Want these design guidelines and Community Action Plan to be adopted by the County General Plan. Photographs would be helpful! Let's do a mailing for the Community Meeting. We need to do a real big PR push. County Database is available. Feedback from Brent- discuss a timeline. Looking at early May. May 8 or May 15. 5:30 Dinner and Meet and Greet. Looking at Tuesday, May 14th as the tentative date. Get the plan out to us ASAP.
- Redwood Valley School Disposition: School District's process. Chris wrote a letter on behalf of herself to the School District. School District is looking at a 99-year lease of the school property to a development company that will likely tear down the school and build 60 units of housing. Would be great to have something written into our design guidelines that would perhaps pertain to this housing unit. School District could include the community more.
- Ad Hoc Committee Reports. Development Review: Redwood Remedies on Rd D. Want to down zone from RR1 to RR10. For their cannabis cultivation. North State St. The Old Tack Shop with a big metal shed. Want to rezone from C-1 to C-2. The applicant did not give a reason as to why they want to rezone. C-2 has more uses than C-1. Tall Treehouse Society- applied for an administrative permit for a cannabis processing facility. Now they want to have a microbusiness permit- which would include retail. This would need to be non-storefront retail. Alex is going to take this back to the Planning and Building.

MAC Administration: Succession planning, by-laws, selection process for Officers, Logo for RVMAC.
Propose New Hire of a Temporary (6 month) Secretary/Website Administrator position at $18/hour, for 15 hours per month. Discussion/Action.
