  1. Call to Order
    The meeting was called to order at 11:04 am by Chairman Jerry Buzzard.

    2. Approval of Warrants/Claims - November & December 2024

    Trustee Gary Mirata motioned to approve. Trustee Erin Gardiner seconded the motion.

    The motion passed with the following vote:

  4. Correspondence

      The Savings Bank of Mendocino County is no longer charging businesses for bill pay services. Local Agency Investment Fund has updated the District's authorized signors. The balance on the account is $312.18.

  5. Office Manager's Monthly Report
    1. Financial statements presented for November & December 2024

      The first half of the grape crop for 2024 was received from Colombini Vineyard management in the amount of $6,069.75.  The Trustees have decided to pay the Ukiah Valley Basin Groundwater Sustainable Management invoice.  However, they will be appealing the fee.

    2. Cemetery management software update

      Kornegay and Perry have been reviewing different cemetery software programs. Both are attending the CAPC conference in March where several software vendors will be present demonstrating their software packages.

  6. Investment Committee Report 

    The Stifel investment reports were presented to the Board for November and December 2024. The balance in the Stifel Endowment account as of December is $2,232,942, balance in the Stifel Endowment Interest account is $120,031 and the balance in the Stifel Capital Projects account is $893,733.

  7. Grounds Foreman's Monthly Report
    1. Burials for month and year to date

      Grounds Foreman Cooper reported that in 2024 there were 55 full and 83 ash for a total of 138 burials. 2023 there were 50 full and 59 ash for a total of 109 burials. 

    2. Grounds maintenance

      All work has been completed in Deer Park Development, Phase 1.  Ukiah and Redwood Valley cemeteries have both been sprayed for weed control.  Employees have been raising sinking headstones in the lawns.

  8. Election of RRCD officers

      Trustee Buzzard nominated Trustee Gardiner as Vice Chairman.  Trustees agreed to keep the other positions the same. For 2025 the positions will be: Chairman = Buzzard, Vice Chairman = Gardiner, Treasurer = Mirata and Secretary = Connerton.

      Chairman Jerry Buzzard motioned to approve. Trustee Gary Mirata seconded the motion.

      The motion passed with the following vote:

  9. Employee Handbook

      The board voted on one change in the employee handbook on page 52. 

      RUSSIAN RIVER CEMETERY DISTRICT will pay employees, as long as they have reported to work at the beginning of the work day, under the following circumstances:

      · Interruption of work because of the failure of any or all public utilities;

      · Operations can't begin due to threats to employees or the company's property, or when recommended by civil authorities; or

      · Interruption of work because of natural causes or other circumstances beyond the company's power to control.

      Trustee Erin Gardiner motioned to approve. Trustee Gary Mirata seconded the motion.

      The motion passed with the following vote:

  10. Injury and Illness Prevention Program and Heat Illness Prevention Plan

    Office Manager Kornegay updated the Injury and Illness Prevention Program and Heat Illness Prevention Plan to include the new mandatory Indoor Prevention regulations.

    Trustee Gary Mirata motioned to approve. Trustee Erin Gardiner seconded the motion.

    The motion passed with the following vote:

  11. Workplace Violence Prevention Plan

    The District adopted a Workplace Violence Prevention Plan as required by law.  All district employees will be trained on the program.

    Trustee Erin Gardiner motioned to approve. Trustee Gary Mirata seconded the motion.

  12. Trustees Discussions, Questions & Comments

      Trustee Gardiner informed the board that she wrote an article about the Sign Project and it will be featured in the Historical Society's newsletter.
