    The meeting was called to order at 11:03 am by Chairman Jerry Buzzard.

    2. Approval of Warrants/Claims - January 2025


    Trustee Gary Mirata motioned to approve. Trustee Erin Gardiner seconded the motion.

    The motion passed with the following vote:

  4. Correspondence

      Trustee Rick Iversen passed away February 14, 2025.

      Kornegay presented the California State Controller's Audit Report for Mendocino County's Apportionment & Allocation of Property Tax Revenues for July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2022. According to the report the District was overpaid $1,836 for the period July 1, 2015 through June 30, 2022.  The County has agreed to the State Controller's findings and will be correcting their errors.

    2. Brown Act update

      Kornegay informed the Board of the changes to the Brown Act.  

  6. Investment Committee Report 

    The Stifel investment reports were presented to the Board for January 2025. The balance in the Stifel Endowment account as of January is $2,240,336.60, balance in the Stifel Endowment Interest account is $125,480.17 and the balance in the Stifel Capital Projects account is $1,072,058.43 of which 286,940.27 is in the smart rate account.

  7. Grounds Foreman's Monthly Report
    1. Burials for month and year to date

      Grounds Foreman Cooper reported that year to date burials are 3 full and 5 ash for a total of 8 burials. 2024 year to date burials were 7 full and 4 ash for a total of 11 burials.

    2. Grounds maintenance

      Groundskeepers have started replacing old water lines.  They are almost finished with the first line in Block Q-7.  Locks were added to the walk-through gates.  In case the cemetery is closed for high winds, etc. the gates will be locked. Cooper is having a new map drawn up to show the water lines throughout the cemetery.  Cooper had the seat repaired in the dump truck.

  8. Procurement Policy

      Trustees approved the updated Procurement Policy which included two changes.  1) Grounds Foreman Cooper and Office Manager Kornegay's spending limits have been raise to $3,000 each.  2) Procurement of services, goods, or public works projects exceeding $200,000 will be subject to an informal bidding procedure.  

      Trustee Erin Gardiner motioned to approve. Trustee Gary Mirata seconded the motion.

      The motion passed with the following vote:

  9. Employee and Volunteer Recognition No Action
  10. Blue Shield of California payments

    Blue Shield of California invoices will now be paid through ACH transfer.  The Board will still approve every invoice monthly before the payment is made.

    Trustee Erin Gardiner motioned to approve. Trustee Carol Connerton seconded the motion.
