Office Manager's Monthly Report
1. Financial statements presented for August 2024
  
  The financial statements were presented to the board for August 2024. Resolution 124-2024 Withdrawal of District's Funds from County of Mendocino is scheduled to be on the County of Mendocino Board of Supervisors meeting consent calendar September 24, 2024. The District is asking for the withdrawal date to be September 30, 2024 which is the end of the first quarter for fiscal year 2025.
Investment Committee Report
The Stifel Endowment Investment reports were presented to the Board for August 2024. The balance in the Stifel Endowment account as of August 2024 is $1,765,904 and the balance in the Stifel Endowment Interest account is $125,154.
Grounds Foreman's Monthly Report
1. Burials for month and year to date
  
  Grounds Foreman Cooper reported that year to date burials are 34 full and 56 ash for a total of 90 burials. 2023 year to date burials were 36 full and 41 ash for a total of 77 burials.
2. Grounds maintenance
  
  Cooper has finished the majority of the tree work for the season. 85% of the oak trees have been trimmed. All the leaning limbs hanging over the roads have been trimmed back or removed. 100,000 lbs of limbs/brush were hauled off.
Transfer Endowment Fund Interest
Transfer endowment care interest for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2024 from the County Endowment Fund in the amount of $12,170.16 to the County General Fund.

Approve the Closure of Fund Accounts held with the County of Mendocino and Transfer of Funds Request

Authorize the County of Mendocino to close the District fund accounts held with the County and transer the funds on September 30, 2024 as follows:
Transfer funds held with the County of Mendocino in the RRCemetery Capital Improvement and RRCD General Fund to the District's General Fund held at the Savings Bank of Mendocino County.
Transfer funds held at the County of Mendocino in the Russian River Cem Endowment to the District's Endowment Fund held at Stifel.
Trustee Erin Gardiner motioned to approve. Trustee Carol Connerton seconded the motion.

2. Authorize the transfer of funds from Savings Bank of Mendocino County General Fund to Stifel Capital Reserves account.
  Authorize the transfer of $551,553.76 from Savings Bank of Mendocino County General Fund to Stifel Capital Projects account on October 1, 2024. Trustee Erin Gardiner motioned to approve. Trustee Carol Connerton seconded the motion.

Retain Michael A Celentano, CPA
Retain Michael A Celentano, CPA to assist with the transferring of the funds from the County of Mendocino, setting up adequate QuickBooks accounts and closing fiscal year June 30, 2024 to ensure the District is following HSC 9077 and accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America Governmental Auditing Standards. Approve up to $1,000.

Cemetery & Frank Zeek School boundary line
Trustee Gardiner talked to a title company regarding the boundary line between Frank Zeek school and the cemetery. The title officer informed Gardiner that we would need a preliminary report on both properties; the school and the cemetery. The cemetery has never been searched, meaning it would require extensive work.Title Officer has advised “We can do a title report on the School parcel for $500, but the cemetery has never been searched. This would take a while and cost $1000+”. The Trustees asked Gardiner if she would propose to Frank Zeek school a boundary line adjustment without going through a title search.

  Trustee Gardiner had 17 people join her on her walk in September. The next scheduled walk is October 5th.
